Shoppers Drug Mart Bonus Redemption

Shoppers Drug Mart is having a bonus redemption event this coming weekend (May 15-16) or so the rumor mill says. Basically you redeem 40,000 Optimum points you get $100 off (instead of the usual $75) and if you redeem 75,000 Optimum points you get $200 off (instead of the usual $150). I love this event. It's an amazing time to stock up on things that never go on sale or to treat yourself to something expensive and special like some perfume!

When you are not happy with a product

We've all done it. You buy something and try it out and decide it is not a marvel of ingenuity. Or you buy something you always by and it doesn't live up to your expectations. So what then? Most people throw it in the garbage and move on. But what you should be doing is calling the company to complain. Recently I bought some Ziploc bags with a slider seal. The things were awful. They burst open, leaked and were not as good as the other Ziploc products I buy. So I called Ziploc to tell them. And because companies want to keep customers happy, they are sending me a coupon for a free Ziploc product. If you don't tell the companies that you are unhappy with their product, they can't make it right for you. I've called when my Tenderflake pie shells have been all folded on each other, when the baby food I bought smelled funny, new lotion didn't live up to my expectations, ect... Not all companies will make it right, but most of the time they do. So by calling them to tell them of the problems you are having with their product, they will send you coupons or extra points/aeroplan ect.... You have nothing to loose. You were going to throw it out anyways, weren't you? Whether it's a 50cent jar of baby food or a $30 bottle of lotion, it's always worth a quick call to tell the company what is wrong. It goes without saying that it has to be legitimate complaint. No making up stories just for free coupons!

You can call them at 1-888-666-8746 or you can fill out a form online. The wait online is long, so I chose the form. You can request a refund or you can request a voucher. The voucher is a better bet in my opinion. It will be good on numerous products. Motrin RECALL

Not sure if people have heard, but Johnson & Johnson issued a recall yesterday on a bunch of their infant/children motrin products as well as on 1 type of children's tylenol.

Here's a list of affected products. I have one that is affected and will be calling Johnson & Johnson on Monday to find out what they are going to do about it.
