Johnson & Johnson coupons

Did you know you can call J&J every month and get 2 coupons each and every month from them? Also, if you've just had a baby you can get their new parents pack. It consists a couple of $1 off J&J baby items and a coupon for 1 free item. I and many others have used it to purchase the baskets of J&J items at Walmart ($20 value). I also used one on the multi pack of penaten down south. Definately worth a call. In fact when you call they actually encourage you to use the free item coupon on the biggest thing you can find! The number is 1-866-565-2229

Their coupons are:

$3 OFF: Aveeno, Clean&Clear, Lubriderm, Neutrogena

$2 OFF: Band-Aid, Bengay, Caladryl, Visine, Listerine, First Aid, Polysporin, Purell, Rogaine, Reach, Efferdent, Rembrandt

$2 OFF: Benylin, Motrin, Tylenol, Splenda, Actifed, Benadryl, Sudafed, Fleet, Nizoral, Anusol, Pepcid Complete, Combantrin, Lactaid, Imodium, NicoDerm, nicorette, Reactine, Rolaids, Sinutab, Zantac

$1 OFF: Johnson's, Desitin, Penaten, Johnson's Buddies, Johnson Kids, Soothing naturals

Shoppers Drug Mart 20x points event AGAIN!

Shoppers Drug Mart is having a 20x the points event again this saturday. This is the 2nd best way to accumulate points through the optimum program (the best way is refer a friend event). You get the 20x pts BEFORE coupons, or at least that's how it's been in the past. That means if you spend $50 but have $10 worth of coupons, even though you are paying $40 you still get 20x the points! I find these events good times to pick a few things that are NEVER on sale like K-cups for coffee machines, those expensive braun cleaning cartridges thingies and electronic stuff. And our SDM even has luggage so if you were in the market, next Saturday March 27, would be the time to buy it!

Score of the Week

Extra Foods has Tenderflake pie shells on for $2.47. I think they are regularly $5.19 or something. So a great deal if you use these. Also, the cruisers and swaddlers that are NOT the new dry max are $11.94 (the mega packs) and the Club packs are on sale. Use the $2 coupon from save.ca for a even better deal. This works out to be the best deal on pampers diapers I've seen in a long time. Canadian Tire has utility racks on sale for 40% off if you are in the market for some shelving to store all your stash of great deal goods!

Shoppers Drug Mart has BONUS REDEMPTION this weekend. Need I say more? What did you all score this weekend with your points? I saw someone walking out with a TV!

Price Matching

Did you know that if you find something advertised elsewhere you can price match at Walmart? You bring in the flyer and you get the sale price at Walmart. There are certain restrictions, such as the store has to have it in stock and it doesn't apply to %off sales (ie 30% off aveeno) and it has to be the same item obviously. It's great when there is only 1 thing at a store that you want on sale. So instead of having to go to Canadian Tire and Shoppers and Extra Foods, you can bring in all 3 flyers and match the price all in 1 stop! I also like it because sometimes it's easier than trying to explain coupons to certain stores. You can price match and use your coupon and be out the door so much faster.

What are your experiences price matching? Love it or Hate it?

Bonus Redemption

Yup it's true! Redeem your points this weekend and get more free stuff at Shoppers Drug Mart!

Disney printable coupons

Disney very often releases printable coupons for their DVD & Blu-ray combo packs. Right now they have one for the Princess and the Frog. Walmart usually sells them. I haven't had much luck finding them elsewhere in town. Make sure you select the Canadian coupon.

Shoppers Drug Mart Bonus Redemption

It's official!! I've seen flyers for it! This weekend is a bonus redemption weekend. If it's like the last one, if you redeem 40,000 pts you get $100 off your purchase (instead of $75) and $200 off if you redeem 75,000pts (instead of $150). Although the amounts taken off are subject to change, so we'll have to wait and see when our flyer arrives!

Score of the Week

Mini Go and yoplait yougurt tubes (FANTASTIC when frozen!!) are on sale at Shoppers Drug Mart for $2.49 Combine that with a $1 from gocoupons.ca for an even better deal! Also SDM has Kellogg's Mini wheats, all-bran, and just right for $2.99 There are also some FPC (free product coupons) on different Kellogg's cereals. So this could be a SUPER deal!!

For those with bambinos Extra Foods has a coupon on the flyer for a free Jumbo package of the new dry max Pampers Cruisers when you buy a club pack. The club packs are on sale for $28.84 too! I don't think you'll be able to combine it with any of the Pampers coupons on save.ca though. It says cannot be combined with any other coupon. :(

One per purchase

This is the one of the frustrating aspects of couponing. The coupon says "Limit one per purchase" One per purchase means one per purchased ITEM. If they meant one per customer or one per transaction they would say it (I have coupons with that written on it). When using a coupon, the company doesn't know whether you used 1000 coupons or 1 in the transaction. They all get sent together in for redemption. The companies could care less about how many you use in a transaction, they are just excited that you are buying their product. That's why they give out coupons, to get you to buy their product.

There are stores, such as London Drugs in Alberta that allow you to "stack" coupons; meaning you can use more than 1 coupon on an item. So if you have 5 coupons for say Tide, then you could use the 5 coupons on one bottle of Tide. However, you couldn't use 5 of the same coupon that says "limit 1 per purchase" on the 1 bottle of time. For those of you that travel south to Albera or BC often I'll blog about stacking one day. Basically 1 coupon per item unless you are in a stacking store.

It's not really rocket science, and gets to be rather frustrating. Feel free to tell the cashier to ring them in as seperate transactions if they are going to be overly picky. It's more work for them in the end for something that really comes out to be EXACTLY the same thing.

And the rumors have it....

The rumors currently circulating are that there will be a bonus redemption weekend at Shoppers Drug Mart on March 20-21. This is supposedly throughout the store and not just cosmetics. Also the following weekend is supposed to be a 20x points event again. Once I get some better confirmation I'll let you all know.

The bonus redemption and/or the next 20x points event would be a great time to stock up on Easter stuff!

Score of the Week

Royale toilet paper is $4.44 today only at Canadian Tire. Combine that with the $1 coupon from gocoupons.ca for an even better deal. Alternatively, you can price match at Walmart and use the coupon. Price matching requires you to bring the flyer to Walmart and the Walmart cashier will adjust the price. History tells me the majority of the Walmart cashier know how to do it. But not all, so be patient.

Extra Foods has some good sales on "Big Brands" My personal favorite is the bear paws for $1.97. They haven't been on sale here for awhile.

Shoppers Drug Mart has their 20x points event today. Be sure to pick up things that don't go on sale like electronics or the Timothy's K-cup coffee. 20x points is hard to pass up if you shop right. Don't forget any coupons. Diapers are on sale there tomorrow (sunday and monday) for $14.77 which is a good price, but I find the boxes are a better price when they are $19.99, however they start only at size 3! So if your little bambino doesn't wear size 3 yet, stock up on sunday and monday. Lays chips are a steal at $1.99 Sunday and Monday if you like chips!

flyerscoupons.ca and Shoppers

I was asked what my opinion of flyerscoupons.ca was. I have learned so much information on smartcanucks.ca It has empowered me and pointed me in the direction of great savings. I've also made many "net friends" on there. I've also enjoyed trading coupons and the occasional coupon train (one blog I'll talk about them). But I like flyerscoupons.ca too. I think I might love it more. The really nice thing about the new website is that it is divide by store. Naturally, up here we could care less about sales at Zellers or RCSS or any of the other million stores out there. Instead of having to weed through tonnes of useless posts. It's slick and simple and so practical for us Yellowknifers. Smartcanucks still has it's place, especially for couponing, but the new site definately has a place for deals. For now, I'm gonna be visiting the 2 sites.

Shoppers Drug Mart flyer is now online for those of you that didn't get it in the mail. 20x the points event will take place on saturday. I'll see you all there bright and early!

Score of the Week v2

This is only applicable today but.... at the front of Extra Foods are a much of coupons. One is for buy 1 old spice product get a free body wash. The deoderant is on sale for $1.64 so for less than a large Tim Horton's coffee you can have a deoderant and a body wash. No more stinky men in Yellowknife!
Although, we are talking about Extra Foods so naturally the coupons don't ring in and you may have a few issues.

Shoppers Optimum

http://flyerscoupons.ca/shoppers-drug-mart-optimum-faq-q-canada-215

I think that pretty much says it all. Any questions?

Score of the Week

Extra Foods has large size Advil on for $6.48 this week. Combine it with a $2 printable coupon from advil.ca for an even BETTER savings!

For those with bambinos....Shoppers Drug Mart has pampers diapers on for $14.99 all week. Combine that with $2 coupon from save.ca

Walmart also has the large size of Johnson & Johnson shampoo, bubble bath, body wash for $5.96. Don't forget to use your $1 coupon from save.ca This was an advertised sale down south last week. So not sure how long it will last up here.

Also heard rumours around that this coming Saturday is a 20x points event at Shoppers. More on optimum points another day! But mark the date!

Couponing 101

I used coupons before. I call this time, my TBSC (time before smartcanucks!). Someone suggested I have a look at smartcanucks.ca in order to maximize my coupon abilities. Smarcanucks is where I've learned how to trade coupons, participated in coupon trains and all kinds of other coupon craziness. Smartcanucks is a fantastic website but....a lot of it doesn't apply to us way up here. In Yellowknife, you just don't have access to the same coupons and same sales as "down south". So, you are asking yourself, how the heck do I coupon up here? Well, my northern friend, but getting the most out of internet coupons.

Coupons can be divided into several categories...
Print at home coupons: These are coupons from websites that you print right off on your computer. A lot of retailers don't accept them because they are so easy to alter. You know the saying...one bad apple spoils the bunch. Some retailers in Yk still accept them. I'd love to know your hits and misses around town.

Coupons sent to you: These are coupons that you select and the company prints them off and sends them to you. Save.ca and brandsaver.ca are just a few

Manufacture coupons: These are coupons that you get in store or directly from the manufacture.

So a few websites for my coupon savy northerners...

http://smartcanucks.ca/
http://www.save.ca/
http://www.brandsaver.ca/en_ca/
and my new favorite..... http://thinkcoupons.ca/

Thinkcoupons.ca is like a giant database of internet based coupons.

Let the couponing begin...
